Problems building arla-0.38 on RHEL-3.0 kernel=2.4.21-20.ELsmp

Hi --

I seem to be running into problems building the arla client on Red Hat
Enterpise Linux 3.0 on an AMD64 system.

When I run a ./configure && make -- I get the following error:

What is nnpfs?  If I attempt to build arla with disabling nnpfs, it also
fails, however, a bit later in the build process, with the following
error:

Anyone have suggestions on how I can succesfully compile arla-0.38 on an
AMD64 system running RHEL 3.0 with kernel 2.4.21-20.ELsmp ?
