arla on FreeBSD 6 or 7?

I just installed on 6.2 last night. (using heimdal 1.0.x from ports)   
You might want to try forcing configure to use the krb5 libs in /usr/ 
local:
./configure --with-krb5=/usr/local

This made that error go away when I got it.
