Hi all,
please cc:robert at mpe.mpg.de me, as I do not know if I'm on the list anymore.
I see severe misbehaviour of arla.0.3[89] under i386 linux-2.6.11.
Alra compiles, installs and starts ok (i.e. without error messages).
Then I get the following symptoms:
1) If my cache is located on an ext2 file system, my /afs is empty.
And trying to access /afs/some.cell results in an error message
similar to ``no such device''.
2) If my cache is located on an ext3 (or reiser) file system, /afs
is filled correctly. I can list all directories and read all files.
Unfortunately I cannot write data to any files, even though I can
create directories and directory entries. And I cannot execute
files located on afs. (I can execute statically linked files, if
I have my cache on a reiserfs (!!!) and use the fully qualified path of
the executable, no links and no shell scripts).
Please! This is very urgent and critical to my work here. So if
anyone has an idea tell me. I am an exellent Parrot / Keyboardmonkey,
but I need some technical advice on what to diagnose and repair.
BTW. openafs on linux-2.4.xxx works. arla.0.3[89] on freebsd
works. OpenAfs on windows works. arla.0.36 on Suse9.2 (linux-2.6.8)
and on Suse9.1 (linux-2.6.5) works. arla.0.36 compiles but nnpfs
does not load on 2.6.11.
Ahh, and kernel 2.6.12 is already around the corner.
