Ans this is on ext2 or ext3? Will it help you if I say that I have not
seen such corruption for a very long time? Probably not. My example is
haba$ uname -a
Linux clustertest.pdc.kth.se 2.6.5-gentoo-perfctr #2 SMP Mon Aug 9 14:20:35 CEST 2004 x86_64 3 GNU/Linux
haba$ /usr/arla/bin/fs version
fs (arla 0.37rc4)

haba$ pwd
/afs/pdc.kth.se/home/h/haba
haba$ ls foo
ls: foo: No such file or directory
[Exit 1 ]
haba$ echo "foobar" > foo
haba$ ls -l foo
-rw-r--r-- 1 haba users 7 Oct 8 08:59 foo
haba$ less foo
haba$ cat foo
foobar
haba$
Not that your kernel is more bleeding edge than mine.
So what to do? I would
1. Try changing Arla version - latest and greatest snapshot
2. Try changing the kernel version
3. Use the fs arladebug and fs nnpfsdebug stuff as described
in the debugging section - compare logging output
during "echo foobar>foo;cat foo" between a working and
a non-working system.
but not necessarily in this order.
Harald.
