arla 0.35.11 and MacOS 10.2.3

It may well be a local problem after all, anyway, here is the problem:

I went through various (Apple discussions threads all over the place)
glitches after upgrading to 10.2.3 which were ultimately resolved doing
a clean install and update using a 10.2.3 COMBO updater.

Arla 0.35.11 binary for 10.2 does not seem to work for me. Looks like
(correct me if I am wrong) arla binary 0.35.11 for OS X 10.2 is built
with KTH-krb and use kauth to get the ticket. (sorry, I forgot many
details since I last played with arla local builds).

If I issue kauth this is what I get:

kauth -n marino at cern.ch
marino at CERN.CH's Password:
kauth: Can't send request (send_to_kdc)

Another thing not kosher (at least for me) is that kauth -n <principal>
-c <cell> apparently does not work either:
kauth -n marino -c cern.ch
marino at NO.DEFAULT.REALM's Password:
kauth: Can't send request (send_to_kdc)

pb-d-128-141-35-165:marino:$ kauth -n marino
marino at NO.DEFAULT.REALM's Password:
kauth: Can't send request (send_to_kdc)

Previously I was using kalog and klog which I do not have anymore now.
Any suggestion where to look for specific info on solving all this?

Thanks
