As I understand this makes /afs visible for the finder (and probably
other dialog boxes and such). After startarla it is probably already
visible in the kernel for the command line utilities.

This is probably a side effect. The solution for you is to edit the
CellServDB file to only contain the cells that are visible for you
anyway. However, if you have your own cell in ThisCell, arla should
look at your root.cell volume that probably is not very populated
anyway. Or am I missing something here? However, trimming CellServDB
should do the trick.

True: Manpages zero, websearch almost zero, search att Apple Dev
Connection zero and the web pages at ADC have unbalanced tables which
makes my Netscape show zero. Not very rewarding. So more information
on disktool would not hurt.
