Sorry, I wasn't precise enough.  I mean that it's in a loop over all
the files in my home directory.  The place where I can see it crash
moves by 1-2 files when I repeat the experiment.  I attribute this to
the latency of the output, however, and suspect the actual place of
the crash is always the same.
