Now there's code that seems to work on 2.3.99-pre6. We do appreciate
reports on success/failure on this (moving) target.

And as Love said, we try to support the latest stable and current
branch of all OSes, which in the case of Linux means 2.2.x and 2.3.x.
The changes in the 2.2-series have not been that large, and the code
probably works on most versions there. However, in the 2.3-branch,
lots of differences have occured and code has changed forth and back.
Keeping track of all these changes and having code that works on all
these combinations is hard, and does not seem that useful, since to
out knowledge most of the users are running one of the latest stable
kernels or the most current one. Is that the case?
