This is what CFLAGS was in xfs/bsd:

CFLAGS  = -g  -Wall -Wmissing-prototypes -Wpointer-arith

I did a make clean in xfs/bsd and recompiled after adding the -O,
installed everything again and upon running startarla got the following:
