Arla 0.27 on Debian 2.1 system

While I'm talking about problems with klog, I might mention some
of the bugs I've seen on my Debian 2.1 system with linux-2.2.12
arla 0.27.  (glibc 2.0.7)

(1)  When arla is running for a while, /afs disappears and attempts
     to refer to it (e.g., ls /afs/mcc/) produce either 'not found'
     messages or a message that the network is disconnected.
(2)  Tokens sometimes vanish.  In a worst case scenario, the
     token, whether obtained from kth-krb using kinit and afslog,
     or from the arla 0.27 klog, disappears as soon as I try to
     use it:
