SIG: sigpending lied - error traced back to pgcc compile of kernel

It appears that both of my recently reported problems (sigpending lied and
the signals during AFS access) go away if the kernel is compiled with gcc
instead of pgcc/egcs, even at -O2 -m486. 

I had thought that people hadn't had any problems with the recent kernels
and pgcc/egcs.

Ah well.
