Hej Stacken, short introduction

Hello Stacken,

I’ve just submitted an application through the membership webform, and wanted to briefly introduce myself here as well.

My name is Theo. I’m Swedish but currently living in the UK. I’m very interested in Linux, server administration, networked systems, and the history and culture of early computing. I’ve been running my own infrastructure projects for a while, including various virtualised services and MUD/MOO servers, and I’d really like to learn more by participating in a community such as Stacken.

From what I’ve seen, Stacken has exactly the mix of tradition, technical depth, and hands-on experience that appeals to me. I especially appreciate the preservation of older systems such as AlexMUD (which I logged into yesterday), and the fact that you run your own servers and donated hardware in your own datorhall.

I’m very enthusiastic about servers and networking, so I’d also be interested in learning more about how you manage and operate your own infrastructure.
