running 0.36 on linux-2.6.10 (debian)

and from my own experiments, I learn that the current arla packaged in debian 
(0.36) will not work with their 2.6.10 kernel source. The author of that 
message mentions two patches to make both work together. Could anybody on 
this list comment? Thank you very much,
