arla & freebsd 5.x

Strange. Don't know. My heimdal was built with ./configure and I have
only static libroken.a and libroken.la. My heimdal is a 0.6 with some
patches which make it about the same as a 
ftp://ftp.pdc.kth.se/pub/heimdal/src/snapshots/heimdal-0.6-20040101.tar.gz
or something like that.

This is an openssl compat problem. If your des.h is in
/usr/include/openssl/des.h you might want to force
the existance of openssl into configure:

./configure --without-krb4 CFLAGS=-DHAVE_OPENSSL
