arla on NetBSD (2.0_RC) != i386 ??

Dear all,

I'm trying to compile arla (I tried 0.36.2 and 0.37) on a SPARC running 
NetBSD/sparc64 version 2.0_RC4. Both versions failed to compile with this:

I know that it seems to run smoothly on NetBSD/i386 (same version). So I 
would like to ask if anybody has experience with arla on a recent NetBSD 
!= i386 and/or has a clue what the problem is.
