OS X.2 Jaguar Arla Problems

Ok, now that I've figured it out, I feel a bit silly.
I had been using openafs, in which /afs is a symlink to /Network/afs
where it actually puts things. Arla, however, really uses /afs and
doesn't make it a symlink.
Perhaps some sort of coordination could determine a standard way of
doing it to avoid future confusion (ie, the Mac way of /Network or the
unix way of /afs)?
