0.35.2: No, my file is not empty

I'm looking at this situation:

sams[56] ll incoming.spool 
-rw-------  1 10  PUstaff  5100 Mar  9 18:11 incoming.spool
sams[57] cat incoming.spool 
sams[58] fs flush incoming.spool 
sams[59] cat incoming.spool
sams[60] fs flushvol .
sams[61] cat incoming.spool
sams[62] 

And yes, the file does contain 5100 bytes, when read on another
machine.

Any clues?
