arlad / pppd

 Does  arlad  need any special initialization parameter to work in a
tunneled (pppd) configuration?
 klog and similar utilities work well but  
 ls /afs    hangs   and a message
Message from syslogd at JackBox at Sat Sep  9 19:01:59 2000 ...
JackBox kernel: xfs_readdir: data nov valid 
appears when I use CTRL-C to kill the ls command.
