How do I *really* debug arla?

I followed the instructions, and voila:

reunion# arlad -n -z --debug=almost-all /dev/xfs0
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: read_conffile: /etc/arla.conf
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: Arlad booting sequence:
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: connected mode: connected
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: ports_init
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: rx
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: conn_init numconns = 100
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: initconncache
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: cellcache
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: fprio

Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: using rxkad level auth
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: credcache numcreds = 100
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: fcache low_vnodes = 6000, high_vnodes = 8000low_bytes = 188743680, high_bytes = 209715200
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: cmcb
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: cm
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: arla init done.
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: running pinger
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: pre-creating nodes
Mon Sep 13 09:10:55 1999: arlad: open ev/xfs0: No such file or directory

This is 0.27 on FreeBSD 3.2-RELEASE.

I also tried just doing "fs arladebug almost-all", but that seemed to
have no visible effect on syslog.
