Love's patch does work; thanks very much.

Note that the new version of arla-0.27 contains some superfluous
directories amon, fs, pts, vos, and udebug in arla-0.27/appl which
cause problems if you compile in the source directory.  The
files in these directories all seem to be copies of files in appl.
