device not configured?

Assar, 

I have loaded arla module to the kernel by doing 'modload' in
/etc/rc.secureleve.  

# mknod /dev/xfs0 c 47 0
                    ^^ I have picked 47 for an arbitrary open number
... should it be certain number?

But it complains:

# /usr/arla/bin/mount_xfs /dev/xfs0 /afs
mount_xfs: mount: Device not configured

What should I do?
