It's possible but it sounds unlikely.  Are you sure you have the
correct cell in /usr/{arla,vice}/etc/ThisCell?  Also, try `afslog
wam.umd.edu'.  And try the `-d' switch to kauth and see if you get any
more information on what's happening.
